This
quilt is made from a very old (circa 1830's) quilt top taken from
my collection of vintage quilt tops. The top is comprised of indigo
and muslin fabrics and is pieced entirely by hand. The indigo blue
'ocean wave' blocks are striking against the off white muslin. There
are a few minor age spots, no larger than the head of a pin, and
the quilt top is in magnificent condition. I used a beautiful blue
and white print fabric as the backing and an indigo fabric for the
binding. The machine quilting is very intricate and the quilting
pattern on the alternate blocks adds to the character of the quilt.
The quilt top and fabrics used in the quilt were pre-washed. The
quilt top, backing, binding and batting are 100% cotton and the
quilt is machine washable.
